I Love To Travel – The Beginning

Life has a way of “getting in the way” of doing things we want to do. Here I am in my “Autumn Years” and just getting to the point where I can travel and enjoy what this wonderful world has to offer. Procrastination is a big part of it. I’ve been retired for several years now and “wish” I had begun my travels sooner. Does this sound familiar? I realize some reading this have commitments such as a family, which might preclude you from living out your nomadic fantasies. During my travels I’ve seen all ages and genders from teenagers to seniors backpacking across Europe, South America and Asia as well as these United States. Life is short, and if you have any dreams regarding travel, I would encourage each of you to take a look at your life and your goals and ask yourself:

Do I own my life?”

“Are my goals in order?”

Dare to dream… Check this out!

I do hope you enjoy reading my blog. I’m one of those people that have always enjoyed traveling. When I was a young boy growing up in upstate New York, my folks would occasionally make a road trip to visit relatives in Virginia, Maryland and Tennessee. I could hardly wait till our next trip. Once out of high school, I joined the U.S. Air Force. The primary attraction for me in joining the Air Force was the opportunity to travel around the world and take in what other countries and people had to offer in terms of history, cultures, etc. I was not disappointed. I was able to visit most of Western Europe, several islands in the Mediterranean Sea as well as several islands throughout the Atlantic Ocean, Alaska and Hawaii.

Once out of the Air Force, I was fortunate enough to work for a company that offered me an opportunity to travel, both domestically and internationally. I had the good fortune to travel throughout much of these United States as well as the Middle East, Asia and Europe.

Later, as the owner of a multi-state Private Investigations Company, I also had an opportunity to travel domestically and internationally.

Once I retired from my business, it just seemed natural to take a trip somewhere to celebrate my retirement and freedom from being tied down to a business.

So the question became – where should I go?
