About

As I began writing this blog, it dawned on me that I have been a “Nomad” all my life. As a youngster, my parents moved around a lot, mostly due to seeking better opportunities. By the time I got out of high school, we had lived in three different states and I had attended 9 different schools. Most would find this a “bad recipe” for a good education. However, after attending the first 2 or 3 different schools, I began to look upon attending a new school as an adventure. I met other kids easily and usually fit in and adapted well.

I was not a psychology major, but if I had been and was counseling me, I would tell me that my love of travel stemmed from moving around a lot during my childhood. After high school, I joined the U.S. Air Force. I was looking for adventure and travel and was not disappointed – I found both! I was fortunate enough to travel throughout Europe, Alaska, Hawaii, the Azores, (Portuguese Islands) in the Atlantic Ocean, various islands in the Mediterranean Sea and most of the contiguous 48 states.

After the Air Force, I was fortunate enough to work for a couple of companies that gave me an opportunity to travel both domestically and internationally. Later, I had my own business for many years; a business that afforded me the opportunity to travel not only within the USA, but foreign travel as well. Once I retired, I decided to celebrate my retirement by researching international travel destinations for a place to visit; a place where I had never been before. Ecuador in South America kept popping up as a destination that promised the interest I was looking for. I was not disappointed. During my first visit to Ecuador, I fell in love with the country, its beauty, its architecture, its history and its people. Since then I have visited various parts of Ecuador several times. I have also had the good fortune to visit South Korea, Taiwan, Japan, Hong Kong and the Middle East.

Now… other parts of the world are calling my name…
